Famed horticulturist Luther Burbank was among the first to draw the world's attention to this small corner of Northern California, dubbing it "the chosen spot of all the earth, as far as nature is concerned."
There is a large horse community here as well, with several established training facilities from upper level dressage , hunter/jumper, eventing, reining and cutting, just to name a few. Several large area state parks and beaches are dedicated to trail riding. There is also a majority of agriculturally zoned properties for use from horse boarding to vineyard and/or wineries.
